Well like I said, bloody fantastic night. Me and my mate got there pretty early like 8.30 to help ourselves to the drink specials. Somebody (?Paws-1? - help me out lewps) was on the decks just pumpin out some nice hip hop. So from 8.30 til bout 9.45 involved just drinking cheaply listenin to nice tunes and then at 9.50 we bought ourselves 4 drinks each while the going was cheap.
At bout 10.30 I reckon Funkoars jumped on stage and played NOTHING BUT NEW STUFF (haha cept for Kidney Shifters and Now For Something Completely Different) but it was great to hear new stuff, and be at the first show where they were playing this shit. Shouts go out to Reflux for still scratching it out like a madman despite having a broken thumb (parrently that was Sesta's fault from the night before, funny shit). So yeh - top set from them, awesome stuff.
Bout 11.30 Hunter and Dazastah make there way on to the stage. They were playing a lot of shit from Hunters new LP which was alright but made Dazastah pretty much redundant. There best moments (I reckon) were when they pulled out I'm a Cunt and EOL and got Dazastah in it. Another highlight from their set was getting the Funkoars on stage and performing Still Drunk. That shit was mad, doubt they've played that live often.
Hmm I've reckon I've got my times wrong but sometime after midnight I guess Brad n Trem hit the stage. They played a bit of everything - mixtape shit, LC stuff, and gems like Check the Strategy etc. Top set but was flawed like the other two due to poor sound - bit of feedback n all that, not that I really noticed way up the front in front of the speaker, but Brad was giving the soundguy shit for it, "It's just fucken two mics and a cd player, not a fucken band, how hard can it be". Highlight of their set was their last long - Carlton United Tragedy where they got the front row (inc. me) up on the stage for some reason I didnt get. Was tops though.
So yeh the night was tops, we left after Brad n Trem finished bit after 1 to find ourselves some ladies, and succeeded haha (its impossible at hip hop gigs, like 1 bird to every 50 guys, with all of em going for her). But yeh the crowd was tops, no brawls, actually the opposite, for every slightest bump there'd be apologies all round (specially from me, being a weeny lanky cunt). Hopefully venue will still be good, couple of taggers caught but not too bad i dont think. They had signs up like "for every tag drinks will go up $1" - dont think it was enforced though.
Cheers to Lewps and the Cypher team for a top night!
